Dr. Shaashawn, she/her pronouns, is a self-identified proud army brat born in Germany, attended her first two years of high school in Seoul, Korea, and studied for six months at St. Peter’s College in Oxford, England in college. She was nicknamed “The Voyce” by the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Poetry scene and her bff.
Dr. Shaashawn’s alto voice is conversational, soothing, warm, engaging, relatable, and credible. She is known for being able to ‘hear her smile’ on the radio airwaves and in voice work. Her vocal quality is comforting, rich, and assuring. Dr. Shaashawn’s positive optimistic personality compliments her smooth voice connecting easily with listening audiences of diverse races, ethnicities, ages, sexes, gender identities, cognitive abilities, gender expressions, socio-economic classes, veteran statuses, sexual orientations, and faith orientations.
Dr. Voyce is an award-winning radio broadcaster, author of two books and 1 CD, edutaining facilitator, engaging mistress of ceremonies, polished plenary moderator, and unapologetic justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, belonging advocate and disruptor.
